The shutter is, however, electronically operated, so it will not work without batteries in the camera. The shutter button is nice to press, and isn’t easily knocked by accident. ![]() The focus ring moves smoothly and the F-Stops on the aperture ring and the increments on the shutter speed dial are satisfyingly ‘clicky’ and easily changeable.Ībove: Images taken indoors: Minolta X300, Fujicolour 200ISO film © Made from mostly metal and plastic, it is lovely and easy to grip and has enough substantial weight to it to make it feel sturdy and yet light enough to be able to carry around conveniently. There is no doubt about it, this camera is a bit of a looker. Shutter Speed range from 1s-1/1000s (on manual mode), 4s-1/1000s (on auto mode).It also has a cable shutter release should you need it, and an in-viewfinder shutter speed LED display. It has a SR (bayonet) lens mounting system and a top mounted shutter release which is easy to access. ![]() It’s a simple little Japanese-made 35mm film camera with full manual control (aperture, focus and shutter speed) and an automatic shutter speed option. The Minolta X300 is a followup to the X570 series. After weeks of research and trawling all over eBay and in charity shops, I finally settled on a beautiful Minolta X300. At the end of February, I decided to treat myself to a new camera.
